Honest Answers

The questions every business owner asks.

Why do I have to pay monthly? My old guy just built it and left.+
That's exactly why your old site is broken. A website that nobody touches for two years stops ranking, breaks when WordPress updates, and gets hacked. The monthly is what keeps your investment from rotting. Most clients don't pay anyone less than this — they just pay for someone they can never get on the phone.
$2,000 is a lot for a small website.+
It's a lot less than what most agencies charge a small business — those start at $5,000 and they outsource the work to Pakistan. And it's the actual cost of someone in Ohio building it themselves and being responsible for it. If $2,000 is going to be a stretch, the $250 audit is a better starting point — I'll show you exactly what's wrong with what you have and what to do about it.
Can I just pay for the build and skip the monthly care plan?+
I don't do that anymore. I've watched too many sites I built die because nobody was watching them. If a build's the right move for you, the care plan comes with it. If you only want the build, I can refer you to someone who does that — but I won't be the right person.
How long does a build take?+
3 weeks for Starter, 4–5 weeks for Standard, 6 weeks for Premium — assuming you can get content (logo, photos, copy direction) to me on the first call. Sites stall when the client takes 2 weeks to send a logo, not when I take 2 weeks to build a page.
Do I own the website?+
Yes. Custom-coded site, your domain, your hosting account, your code. If we ever stop working together you walk away with everything. No proprietary platforms, no lock-in.
What if my needs change after launch?+
You can move up or down a care plan tier any month with 30 days notice. Need extra hours one month? $75/hr for anything over your tier. Want to add a whole new section? That's a separate quote, not surprise billing.
Where are you based?+
Willard, Ohio. I work primarily with businesses in Northeast Ohio — Norwalk, Sandusky, Bellevue, Mansfield, surrounding counties. In-person meetings are easy if you're within an hour. Remote-friendly for everywhere else.
What's NOT included in the care plan?+
New full-page additions after launch, major redesigns, print/graphic design work, paid ads management, photography/videography. All available at $75/hr or referred to a partner. The care plan is for keeping your existing site great, not for unlimited new work.
